Tunnel of Light presents a hypnotic, abstract composition that turns entirely on movement and depth. From a dark centre a spiral of light and colour unfolds, as though you were looking into the interior of a turning source of energy. Rainbow tones — green, blue, pink, yellow and orange — flow into one another and are cut through by transparent, circular lines that reinforce the turning movement.
The soft blurring of the colours at the edges gives the work a dreamlike, almost cosmic character. It seems as though layers of light were sliding over one another, creating a sense of continuity and infinity. The centre acts as an anchor for the eye, while the surrounding colours draw you inwards. The painting evokes associations with meditation, focus and inner movement: a visual experience that is both calming and intense, and that invites the viewer to pause for a moment over what lies "at the centre".
