When Two Dogs Fight Over a Bone

About this work

A husky and a rottweiler face each other in richly decorated armour and red boxing gloves. While they are absorbed in their struggle, a jester and a crowned lady quietly move away. This theatrical scene illustrates ‘When two dogs fight over a bone, a third runs away with it’. Humour and irony reveal how pride and competition can blind us: those focused only on defeating others may lose what truly matters.
